There comes a time in an ID cards life when a single-side ID just isn’t going to cut it anymore. What do you do when you need a dual-sided ID card and have a single-sided card printer?
In the short-term, we have a solution. However cumbersome it may be. The first thing, will be to create two card designs. One for the front of your cards and the other for the back. Print the front of your cards first. Then manually flip the card over and run the card with the design for the back of the card. This technique works best for low-volume production of IDs with barcoding or other simple text.
Two main reasons we consider this a short-term solution is this process may take additional time for an employee to produce a single ID badge and time is money and the card flipping also increases the wear and tear on your card printer.
It is always good to plan your future needs into your budget, so when the time comes the funds you need available to upgrade your card printer to dual-sided capabilities (some card printers have field upgradeable capabilities) or invest in a new dual-side card printer.
You may also outsource your card printing to Card Tech ID. We provide custom card printing solutions and we do not have a minimum order.
